The 'Words with Friends' app - a multi-player Scrabble-like game - somehow just got even more wholesome.

Spencer bonded with 86-year-old Roz over 324 games on the game Words with Friends.

The 22-year-old liked Roz so much that he flew from New York City to Florida to see her - and their friendship blossomed in real life just as much as it had online.

Look how happy they are.

Maybe social media is more than just a cesspit of trolling, after all.

The remarkable meet-up was thanks to the help of a New York City pastor.

Otherwise, the man from Harlem and the woman who befriended him from her Florida retirement community would never have met.

Not that it was all completely pure: Spencer made clear that he did not go easy on her, winning 210 games to her 114.

It is is a competition after all.
