It's 2015 and Rita Ora's cleavage is considered offensive

The BBC has been criticised for seeming to apologise for an outfit worn by Rita Ora during an appearance on The One Show.

Anna Davies wrote: "Arrrggghhh!!! Cleavage! Evil women's boobies!! Won't someone please think of the children!!!

"Honestly, women have breasts, we all know it, they aren't disgusting taboo objects. I'm offended the female form is something to apologise for, but who cares."

Cheyenne Elizabeth Graves said: "Seems like a lot of people feel this outfit was not suitable for 7pm viewing... But fully bared breasts in a newspaper at the breakfast table, on the bus, or in a child's eye line at the supermarket are OK?"

In a separate statement the BBC said it accepted that "tastes vary".

“We didn’t feel that Rita’s outfit would be outside of most viewers’ expectations of that of a major pop star," it said, adding the guests on The One Show are allowed to "choose their own attire and pop stars often opt for something glamorous or striking".

Sadly, no apology was forthcoming for will.i.am's hat.
