Princess Diana opened up to George Michael in a secret phone call he recorded

A secret tape recording, acquired by the Sun, contains intimate details regarding the marriage of Diana, Princess of Wales.

The call allegedly took place in July 1996, while the recording was reportedly made by one of the associates the late George Michael.

Michael, who died on 25 December 2016, was calling 20 years previously to wish the Princess a happy birthday.

According to the Sun, the call was recorded on Michael's answering machine, and the tape was given to Michael's friend Andros Georgiou, who was allegedly present when Michael and the royal spoke on the phone.

The paper reports that on the tape, the mother of Princes William and Harry speaks about her recent divorce, and Sir Elton John.

At the time of the call, Michael had appeared in an Elton John documentary Tantrums and Tiaras. It included scenes of him visiting John's house.

Michael allegedly said on the tape:

I must admit I was kind of horrified. I thought it was very entertaining — I laughed my head off all the way through.

But how are people going to react? We all know him, you know, his lifestyle, but they don’t see all that detail, do they?

Diana, Princess of Wales, allegedly replied:

I know. The moving wardrobe was quite ex­c­essive. That got me.

Michael:
