Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise has hit headlines after the actor can be heard in leaked audio from the set of Mission: Impossible 7 berating and swearing at members of the crew for breaking Covid-19 safety guidelines.

In the audio, obtained by The Sun, Cruise blasts the two crew members for standing too close to each other at a computer screen. “If I see you do it again you’re f**king gone” the 58-year-old can be heard bellowing

The star then added, "We are the gold standard. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. Because they believe in us and what we’re doing. I’m on the phone with every fucking studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf**kers. I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”

Cruise has reportedly been very strict about people following the safety guidelines on the set of the moving, which is currently filming in the UK, which is seeing a steep rise in Covid-19 cases as the year closes out. Cruise warned the crew members that the movie could be shut down if they aren’t more careful and highlighted how much the movie industry has suffered this year because of the pandemic.

The story and the audio of Cruise’s rant has since gone viral and despite Cruise being something of a contentious figure in Hollywood, mostly due to personal aspects of his life, lots of people are actually praising him.

Of course, with any major piece of news like this, there are always memes and jokes.

There have been comparisons to Christian Bale, who had a similar outburst on the set of Terminator: Salvation in 2009 but it should be said that the context of these two rants are very different.

However, some are still uncomfortable with praising Cruise and the way he reacted.

There is said to be 50 members of staff of the set of Mission: Impossible 7 which is filming at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Herts and is set for a release in November, 2021.
