Thousands of people in New York and other American cities have taken to the streets to protest following the announcement that a New York grand jury will not indict the white police officer who killed Eric Garner using an outlawed chokehold in July.
Tensions were already running high in America over the issues of race relations after a grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri, ruled they would not charge a white police officer in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen.

Four prominent New York rabbis were also among those arrested while protesting against on Thursday evening.
