April 20 is the last day you can register to vote. Here's how to do it

Monday is the final day those eligible can register to vote ahead of May's general election.

It is easier and quicker than you might think: all it takes five minutes and an internet connection (which you have if you are reading this).

Simply go to gov.uk/register-to-vote and make sure you have your postcode and national insurance number to hand. Here's a video to explain more.

You have until midnight.

P.S. For those in Northern Ireland, this is the right form.
