Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released pictures of baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor to mark the two-month-old’s christening.

One is an intimate black-and-white shot with Meghan and Harry, whilst the other is a formal family photo with his parents, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and his grandparents, including Doria Ragland.

Photos of the newborn are rare, and Prince Harry and Meghan have been criticised for conducting the christening in private, preventing TV crews and press photographers from capturing the evening.

In an Instagram post, the royal couple remained steadfast in their happiness, writing: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son.

They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment.

This is the family portrait:

The ice seems to have thawed, and people have taken to Twitter to share in their happiness and dote over the new royal baby

So. Emosh.

People are loving Meghan's mum's nose ring

Actually, people are loving Meghan's mum, period.

Beyond Archie being a cute baby...what does he look like?

Others are happy that the event was private

And it's not a proper royal photo unless there are theories about Will and Kate

There are those who aren't bothered, frankly
