Real Housewives of ISIS screened on the BBC and people don’t know what to make of it

'You either have to laugh or cry,' as the old saying goes. But two writers who decided to laugh at the terror group Isis found out the hard way that this rule doesn't always apply.

A BBC sketch called “The real housewives of Isis” has taken things a bit too far, according to some viewers.

The satirical skit, written by Jolyon Rubinstein and Heydon Prowse, gave an insight into the everyday goings on of four jihadi brides, who have travelled from the UK to Syria to marry.

The scene shows one of the girls recording two others as they try on bulletproof vests, to post on Instagram.

It contains one-liners such as:

It’s only three days until the beheading and I’ve got no idea what I’m going to wear

Abdul seduced me online, he had me at free healthcare

It was shown on BBC2’s comedy show Revolting, and it has sparked some differing views.
