Hey everyone! We know the world isn't in a great shape at the moment, at least politically.
Donald Trump is flirting war with Iran, Putin is tightening his grip over seemingly everything and Brexit looks like it could be a complete disaster.
Oh, and it is way too hot right now. Seriously. Cant' everything just stop?
Well, our prayers may have just been answered thanks to a mysterious cosmic event.
On Friday, the moon will turn a blood red colour and conspiracy theorist believe it will, mercifully, bring about the end of days
According to the prolific YouTube preacher Paul Begley, the moon's crimson shade may well be a sign of the second coming - or something like that.
The Express quote Begley as saying in a recent online sermon:
You know, God spoke to me and told me ‘go check out the Blood Moon’ back in June.
He said ‘you need to find out what’s going on’ so I knew the Blood Moon was coming but we already had our four Blood Moon Tetrad back in 2014 to 2015, so I wasn’t really that worried about it.
So the Lord said ‘you need to go check it out’ and I did and I found out it’s the longest Blood Moon of the century.
I found out it was happening over Jerusalem and found that it would be unbelievable folks.
Begley goes on to quote Bible passages and cites the significance of the blood moon rising during Israel's 70th year as a nation.
Everything I’m saying is the truth, the facts, and it is a fact that Joel Chapter 2 says the sun will be darkened and the moon shall turn into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall come.
It is a fact the scripture says in Acts 2 that the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall turn to blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.
And it is a fact that the Bible says in Revelation 6 that the moon will turn to blood.
Now one thing to note – this is not the opening of sixth seal, this is not the sixth seal manifestation of the last days.
So you can’t debunk what I’m saying. You can’t. Everything I'm saying is actual factual.
To be honest, we have to admire Begley's confidence here. He seems pretty sure that something big and apocalyptic is going to happen on Friday, which is annoying for anyone that had something planned for the weekend.
Yet this isn't the first time that the blood red moon has been linked to doomsday only for nothing to come to fruition.
Theories about the unique eclipse began in 2013 thanks to the words of John Hagee and Mark Blitz, a pair of Christian ministers who created the 'tetrad' theory, that a series of eclipses during Jewish holidays, would trigger Armageddon.
As you may have noticed none of that actually happened as we are all still here, living and breathing (for now) so there is no need to cancel that BBQ or that trip to IKEA.
Furthermore, you'll be able to enjoy the blood red moon, which will be the longest of the century, without fear of being incinerated.
