A bar in Chicago has decided to enforce a new dress code for their establishment which will specifically ban both face tattoos and hats which bear the phrase "Make America Great Again".

The Replay Lincoln Park bar is hoping that this move will help the venue "maintain a 'classy environment,' and they announced the decision on their Facebook page on Saturday.

The post in full reads:

After much consternation and consideration and to maintain a “classy environment”, Replay Lincoln Park has implemented a new and strictly enforced dress code.

No face tattoos, no specific hats, please see below. Let’s keep it classy Chicago. Sincerely, management.

The post doesn't specifically name MAGA hats as the primary head garment that will be banned, but the inclusion of the now iconic red hat in the post, as well as the #MAGA hashtag, made it fairly obvious what they were standing against.

The Facebook post has now received more than 300 reactions since it was posted and it has mostly been received positively.

However, there have been a few voices of opposition against the new ruling as many felt that it was either a marketing stunt or a violation of free speech.

In response to one comment, the bar stated that they would overturn the decision to ban face tattoos yet the hat ban was still in place.

One thing they might not have considered is someone entering the bar with a 'MAGA' face tattoo! That would be quite a conundrum, although we sincerely hope that no one in their right mind has that tattoo.
