This just happened on Countdown

Countdown is a national institution, so if you're unfamiliar with the game show you should be ashamed of yourself.

It involves forming words from a random selection of letters, you aim to spell the longest word available, or that you can manage, in 30 seconds.

Occasionally this leads to some naughty words.

Rachel Riley should be no stranger to these, as a presenter on both Countdown and the comedy show version 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown.

Indeed, only last week she tweeted:

Well, it keeps happening.

On Monday's episode lexicographer Susie Dent revealed an eight-letter word that would've won the round, to chuckles:

'Orgasmed' is there for eight.

Everyone had a right old laugh, including host Nick Hewer:

Excellent, and a very satisfactory eight it is too!

It's not the first time this has occurred - fans will know of similar incidents in 2013 and 2014.
