If a president is defeated at the ballot box and screams about it for all eternity, but no one is listening, does it make a sound?

That’s what we’re all about to find out, as Trump continues to grapple with the fact that he lost the US election.

Since even before the election, Trump has tried to call into question its legitimacy. Now he’s accusing Democrats of “stealing” the election and has alleged voter fraud without presenting any evidence.

Trump’s campaign even went as far as to set up a “voter fraud hotline” to try and substantiate his bogus claims regarding the legitimacy of the election.

ABC news reports that Trump staffers have been fielding hundreds of calls a day on a hotline the campaign set up as they try to find instances of voter fraud.

But this has quickly backfired.

The hotline has turned into a "nightmare" and has reportedly been bombarded with prank calls from people laughing or mocking them over Biden's win before hanging up.

Prank calling the Trump campaign's hotline has already become a trend on TikTok, the social media network that’s popular with teens that was responsible for turning Trump’s first campaign rally in Tulsa into a laughing stock.

Of course, actual voter fraud is no laughing matter and should be taken seriously. But what has happened to Trump's hotline is in some ways the perfect metaphor for where he currently stands.

And it seems like Trump’s winning streak has come to a very abrupt end.
