Hurricane Florence made landfall in North Carolina on Friday, and it was no laughing matter: it threatened the lives of millions of people, not to mention the structure of buildings, businesses… nothing is safe from its path.
But amidst the seriousness of Mother Nature wreaking havoc, some humour has been found by eagle-eyed people tuning into the Weather Channel.
Twitter user @gourdnibler shared a video of meteorologist Mike Seidel struggling as the winds and rain appears to batter his body, flinging it left and right.
However as the camera panned out, viewers noticed two guys strolling casually past the camera. They aren’t fighting ferocious winds. They’re just, kind of chilling.
In shorts.
Needless to say, people on Twitter are having a field day with the footage.
People shared weather news exaggerations...
Others are calling it fake news
In a statement to BuzzFeed News, the Weather Channel pointed out the difference in terrain for the guys and their reporter.
It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted.
