Someone actually shouted 'your mum' during PMQs so it's probably time to start the revolution

Ladies and gentlemen, we have just witnessed the British political elite volley 'yo mamma' jokes across the despatch box.

Leader of the Opposition Jeremy Corbyn was grilling David Cameron at Wednesday's Prime Minister's Questions over the ongoing junior doctors' contracts dispute and fresh counter-claims concerning the government's 'seven day service NHS' plans.

Corbyn said he was talking to an NHS chief in Oxfordshire - at which point an as-of-yet unnamed MP shouted "Ask your mother", presumably in reference to Mary Cameron signing a petition against cuts to children's centres in his Oxfordshire constituency.

Cameron flipped the 'ya mum' comment onto Corbyn:

Ask my mother? I think I know what my mother would say – she’d look across the despatch box and say, ‘Put on a proper suit, do up your tie, and sing the national anthem.’

To which Corbyn gave his best sassy headmaster stare and replied:

If we’re talking of motherly advice, my late mother would have said, ‘Stand up for a health service free at the point of use for everybody', because that’s what she dedicated her life to, as did many of her generation.

Fire emoji, 100 emoji, monkey-covering-eyes emoji.

Corbyn's Twitter account followed up with another clapback after he had to give up the floor to other MPs:

Our elected representatives are really outdoing themselves this week.

On Monday Tory backbenchers chanting 'Who are ya?' at Corbyn forced the leader of the opposition to pause for a excruciatingly long time until the laughter died down.

Calm down, everyone. Don't you have more important things to talk about?
