These new stamps are designed to make you feel proud about the seaside

Ten new stamps celebrating the variety and originality of the UK’s seaside architecture have been launched by the Royal Mail.

Among six special stamps are Eastbourne’s blue-domed seafront bandstand, along with a modern shelter further east in Bexhill-on-Sea. Images of the art deco Tinside Lido in Plymouth, Bangor Pier in north Wales, Southwold Lighthouse and Blackpool pleasure beach make up the six.

A miniature sheet of four stamps pays tribute to the piers of Llandudno, Dunoon, Brighton and Worthing, with Southend in the background.

Royal Mail said all the newly-photographed attractions mark the “resurgence of interest in the British seaside” in the past two decades.
