A woman in her 80s fought off a mugger by punching him in the face.
The unnamed woman was walking her dog in an alleyway between Bellevue Road and Invicta Road, Whitstable, Kent, on Sunday morning when she was grabbed by a male attacker wearing black clothes and a hooded top that obscured his face.
But she fended him off by punching him in the mouth.
"It appears the suspect has picked on the wrong person in this instance and she was able to bravely fight him off," said Kent Police's Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham.
"I would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this incident. Do you know anyone who may have been out when the assault occurred and returned home with a facial injury? If anyone can help with this investigation, please call Kent Police."
