Donald Trump baffled everybody on Monday when he left the White House and posed in front of a church for a photo shoot with a Bible.
The POTUS made the three-minute walk to the St John’s Episcopal church reportedly because he was so 'upset' about being mocked for hiding in a bunker.
Trump stood in front of the church and posed for the photo op, right after police used to tear gas to disperse protestors from the scene.
But a resurfaced video from 2015 proves Donald Trump has absolutely no idea what’s in his self-proclaimed “favourite book”.
In an interview on Bloomberg news before the 2016 Presidential election, Trump is asked:
I’m wondering what one or two of your most favoured Bible verses are and why.
Trump interjected:
I wouldn’t want to get into it because to me that’s very personal. When I talk about the Bible, it’s very personal so I don’t want to get into it… the Bible means a lot to me but I don’t want to get into specifics.
When pressed if Trump prefers the Old Testament or the New Testament – the two main sections of the Bible before the time of Jesus Christ and during his life, respectively – Trump shot back:
Probably equal... The whole Bible is incredible.
In fact, Trump basically admitted he didn’t know the Bible “very well at all” last year.
Speaking about Robert Jeffress, an Evangelical pastor and Fox contributor, Trump said:
I didn't know him, but I watched him, and I'd watch him on different shows. I said, ‘I like that guy. Man, he talks really great about me, and I like people that talk well about me.' He was saying, 'He may not be the greatest Christian I've ever seen, he may not know the Bible quite as well as the rest of us, in fact he may not know it very well at all, but that guy's a real leader.’
So Trump, care to share your favourite Bible passage now that you’ve had a little photo shoot with it?
