Donald Trump has claimed that Evangelical Christian churches are experiencing a revival thanks largely to him and his never-ending war with the media and the Democrats.
For once, we actually wish that he hadn't have said this but it is in fact true.
During a press conference outside the White House, or as Stephen Colbert has dubbed it; 'chopper talk,' Trump claimed that some of the biggest pastors in the US have thanked him for revitalising the religion.
The president said:
I got a call the other night from pastors, the biggest pastors, Evangelical Christians. They said that they have never seen our religion or any religion so electrified.Â
They say they have never seen anything like it. Churches are joining. Hundreds of thousands of people. And you know that's to a large extent because of you and your partners, the Democrats.
As you can imagine, these completely fabricated and unverifiable claims haven't gone down too well on Twitter with some aghast at his comments and others looking towards the heavens.
