A scene in the latest music video from Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) has divided the Internet for featuring Michelle Obama hugging Kanye West who is wearing a MAGA hat.

In the animated video for 'Feels Like Summer' we see a number of cameos from other rappers including Drake, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj XXXTentacion and Future who are all hanging out in the same neighbourhood.

Around the 2 minute mark of the video the screen fades to black and we see a image of Kayne in a red 'Make America Great Again' cap in tears. Seconds later Michelle Obama emerges behind him to deliver a hug.

This is a very obvious reference to Kanye's outspoken support of Donald Trump and far-right politics, which has seen him become widely criticised and ridiculed, especially for his comments of slavery.

It's not entirely clear what point Glover was trying to make with this moment in the video but people are interpreting it in numerous ways with the most popular being that Kanye needs a black woman to help him.

This idea was strongly mooted by The Root magazine, a publication that focuses on news and commentary from a black perspective.

This notion sparked a lot of negativity as few people believed that it should be woman's responsibility to solve the problems that a man like Kanye has created for himself.

Others felt that wasn't what it meant at all with some suggesting that it is a suggestion that Kanye needs a mother-figure in his life, as his own mother, Donda West passed away in 2007.

Some felt that it had been blown out of proportion and that everyone should just calm down. After all it's just a piece of art and not actually real.

Amid the Twitter storm The Root put out another tweet clarifying that this was just their interpretation and not that of Glover's.

At least one person liked it.
