Instagram queen January Jones says she is making a “public apology” to all of her ‘friends’…… in the best way possible.

The actress publicly responded to email that a tabloid paper planned to write an article about her “desperate” bikini posts.

On Tuesday, she posted a screenshot of the email that offered her team the opportunity to provide a statement about her “attention-grabbing” posts.

“The National Enquirer is preparing to publish a story which reports January Jones has worried friends with her series of attention-grabbing bikini pictures and social media posts,” the email said.

“Sources claim her content smacks of a ‘desperate cry for attention’ and note how her acting work appears to have dried up before the pandemic took hold,” it continued.

Jones, who has become known for quality quarantine content, took the whole thing in stride and trolled the tabloid. She captioned the screenshot, “S*** They’ve discovered my secret. Consider this my public apology to my ‘friends.'”

Fellow actress Sarah Wright jokingly commented on the post, “We are all so worried about Jan- her photos have somehow become even hotter and more stunning in quarantine and we are all trying to figure out why our sweatpants are suddenly so tight.”

Jones – perhaps best known for her role in Mad Men as Betty Draper – kept the joke going and posted another photo smiling in a pink bikini with her middle finger out on her hip. “Had to do it. #DESPERATE,” she wrote.

More actresses like Alison Brie and Jessica Alba commented in support on Jones, and Chrissy Teigen playfully said, “It was me. I’m worried !!!!!!!!”

Some of Jones’s funniest and self-aware Instagram posts include this bikini pic, captioned “Series: ‘Out of work actor needs attention’, and this photo captioned, “It’s 103 degrees, literally thirsty”.

Aside from the bizarre, irrelevant, and misogynistic attempt by the Enquirer to profit from Jones’s prime Instagram content, we’re glad to see she is clearly doing just fine.
