Nick Kyrgios insult: did the bad boy of tennis go too far with his 'girlfriend sledge'?

Nick Kyrgios has been developing a reputation for disrespectful behaviour this year.

He faced boos from the Wimbledon crowd earlier in the year for appearing to throw a game against Richard Gasquet in the round of 16, having already been involved in heated disagreements with umpires throughout the tournament.

In the Davis Cup, during a loss to Aleksandr Nedovyesov in a singles match, he loudly muttered during the third set:

I don’t want to be here.

However, his latest indignity could be said to be his worst.

The Australian has been condemned for a sledge on world number five Stanislas Wawrinka at the Rogers Cup in Montreal, in which he alleged that another player had "banged" his girlfriend.
