Boris Johnson’s terrible 2021 has been given the mashup treatment by Cassetteboy

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has had some of his worst failings of 2021 nicely wrapped up in his own words by Cassetteboy.

Cassetteboy is known for their clever videos in which they edit together lots of different clips to form sentences. Boris Johnson is a regular victim of these mashups.

The newest Casseteboy video sees highlights some of the Prime Minister’s worst moments of 2021, including the petrol shortages and taking away the extra £20 given to those on Universal Credit.

To the beat of rapper Jay-Z’s song ‘99 Problems’, words from various Johnson interviews and speeches were mashed together to craft some clever lyrics that also mimic the track.

The clip starts with Johnson saying: “If you live in the UK I feel bad for you son, we’ve got 99 problems and I can’t fix one.”

It continues: “We’ve got no petrol, you can’t drive yourselves to the supermarket and its empty shelves.”

The video also references the rocketing prices of fuels, saying: “If you have cheap energy deals, they’ll be taken away like free school meals.

“Or the 20 quid from universal credit, because if you’re poor I don’t give a s**t.”

It also referenced the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, saying: “I act as if Covid-19’s gone away, in fact over a hundred people die each day.”

The clip has been viewed almost 200,000 times and many have commented on how accurate it unfortunately is.

One person wrote: “Too funny, shame its word for word true as well!”

Writer and comedian Ricky Gervais wrote: “Quite remarkable.”

Someone else said: “Nail on the head! Absolutely brilliantly funny if it wasn’t so crushingly true.”
