Someone filmed 'bugs' allegedly falling into doughnut glaze at a Krispy Kreme shop. Happy Halloween

Krispy Kreme is investigating after a YouTube video of what looks like insects falling into doughnut glaze horrified the internet.


Looking through a glass pane at a North Carolina Krispy Kreme shop, user Ashh Nicole filmed rather large black specks she claimed were bugs mixed up in the glaze mix as it was poured onto the doughnuts.

Ashh said she asked the supervisor on duty about it and he just shrugged.

After posting a complaint on the branch's Facebook page as well, the company promised that they'll look into it.

The company has since claimed that the black spots were crumbs.

... a professional pest control company conduct[ed] an extensive review of the store this morning. They concluded that there were no signs of bugs anywhere in the shop, and we were able to determine that what is depicted in your video was in fact doughnut crumbs and not bugs.

We hope you will accept our apology and return to the store. We value your business and your expectation to be treated with respect and courtesy.
