Patriarch Kirill is currently the bishop of Moscow and all Rus and the leader of the Russian orthodox church.
Kirill celebrated his 69th birthday on Friday. He also once called Vladimir Putin's rule of Russia a "miracle of God" and congratulated Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko, often referred to as "Europe's last dictator", on his 2010 election victory which was described as a "charade of a poll".
But putting political allegiances aside, this gif of the folding cross on top of the patriarch's hat, which resurfaced online this week, may well be one of the best things on the internet:
