Boris Johnson's own brother is quitting the government and everyone is making the same joke

Jo Johnson, the brother of prime minister, Boris Johnson has dramatically announced that he will be quitting the government in reaction to the current leadership.

The 47-year-old, who is the younger of the two Johnson brothers, returned to government at the start of his brother's tenure at PM where he was appointed as a the minister for Universities and Science

However, the events of the last week appear to have been too much to bear for Jo Johnson who said that his decision was based on "family loyalty and the national interest.'

In an unexpected move, the MP for Orpington announced his decision in a tweet.

As you can imagine, and you can already see where this is going, Johnson's decision has produced a lot of the same jokes, especially when the Scottish Tory leader, Ruth Davidson quit last week to 'spend more time with her family.'

What we would give to be a fly on the wall of the Johnson family Christmas dinner this year.

We can almost hear Boris Johnson now: 'Oh, brother, where art thou?'
