'Looking for a heavy-set gentleman': Trump runs out of things to mock as he pokes fun at JD Vance weight loss

People think Donald Trump is running out of things to take aim at after he appeared to mock JD Vance for having lost weight.

As with most of Trump’s speeches nowadays, it seems there is no one immune and no topic off the table to speak about once he gets going – and that includes himself.

During an Easter lunch speech at the White House, he veered off topic and gave what critics called a rare “moment of total honesty” after explaining how he chooses who he befriends, and also managed to label himself a “king” while talking about Jesus and Palm Sunday.

His vice-president JD Vance also found himself unwittingly at the centre of Trump’s attention when Trump started to scan the room to locate him.

“I think JD, is JD here? Where is JD? Oh, JD! He’s lost weight, he got a little thinner. I’m looking for a heavy-set gentleman and now I find a perfect-looking specimen.”

Some people are scarcely able to believe that Trump is the US president while making remarks like that.

“The greatest stand-up comedian of his generation. The whole ‘president’ bit is hilarious and his timing is perfect,” someone mocked.

Another said: “That man is so unbelievably inappropriate and gross.”

Someone else suggested: “He’s perfected the half roast/half compliment.”

“Humiliation ritual of the 33rd degree,” another called it.

One person said: “Wow, good for you America. This is your President.”
