We've discussed it at length before, but Donald Trump has demonstrated very little tangible grasp of what a 'dog' is.

That is to say, Donald Trump's go to simile is "like a dog" for pretty much any insult he wants to throw.

It's almost as if he thinks dogs are failing things you just throw away.

Never do that, a dog is for life.

Anyway, Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.

He had the following to say on North Korea and its leader Kim Jong-un :

No nation on Earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arm itself with nuclear weapons and missiles.

The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.

Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.

The United States is ready, willing, and able, but hopefully this will not be necessary.

That's what the United Nations is all about. That's what the United Nations is for.

Let's see how they do.

In response North Korea's foreign minister likened President Trump to a "dog barking," one-upping the man in the Oval Office by associating the noun with an appropriate verb.

Foreign minister Ri Yong-ho told reporters in New York on Wednesday, as the New York Times reports:

Back home, we have a saying: The dog barks, but the caravan continues.

If he thought he could scare us with the noise of a dog barking, well, he should be daydreaming.

When asked about Trump's casual use of the term "Rocket Man" to describe Kim Jong-un, Ri said:

I am sorry for his aides.
