There is actually an Isis themed gift shop

Quite possibly the strangest news we've heard all day: there is actually an Isis gift shop - and its owner has a pretty capitalist message.

So reports journalist Joseph Dana, who tracked down the owner of Islami Giyim (which means Islamic Clothing) in Istanbul, Turkey. He refused to give his name but said through a translator he was not, and never had been an Isis member or supporter. His reasons for opening the shop?

“I am responding to a market demand. This is Islamic clothing. What else can I say?”

Here, via the shop's Facebook page, is some of the clothing on offer there - including a T-shirt with a logo widely used by Isis miliants:

As Dana notes in his piece, published in Roads and Kingdom and Slate magazine, "the idea of Isis T-shirts shouldn’t actually be that surprising. For a terrorist organization hell-bent on creating a state based on a puritanical and bigoted form of Islam, Isis has an incredibly savvy marketing and branding campaign".
