This bow tie-wearing goat stole the show at the Tony Awards

All eyes were firmly focussed on New York last night as Broadway stars past and present walked the Tony Awards red carpet.

As usual, there was plenty to talk about: aside from the outfits, the actors and the awards, there was one particularly explicit, particularly political acceptance speech from Robert De Niro that made headlines.

But forget that, because here's the real news: there was a goat on the red carpet. In a collar. And a bow tie!

Of course, this isn't just any ordinary goat; Sparky is actually the star of Once On This Island, an acclaimed play depicting the journey of a 'fearless peasant girl in search of her place in the world'. Sparky's role is to make the crowd feel like they're truly in a village - it's called immersive theatre, darling!

So he wanders the aisles and enamours his fans, earning rave reviews and even a Playbill profile piece hailing him as the show's 'reluctant star'.

But, shockingly, not everyone loves Sparky.

One of last night's most talked about moments came when actor Nathan Lane, who won a Tony for his stellar role in the epic Angels in America, refused to feed Sparky.

In the words of Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness: can you believe?
