Trump was asked to comment on the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising but just talked about himself instead

During a press conference outside of the White House on Friday, Donald Trump was asked to comment on the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.

The event which started on August 1 1944, was a significant moment in World War 2, where Poland's underground resistance, in conjunction with the Home Army, rose up and liberated Warsaw from Nazi forces and coincided with the German's retreat from the country.

We don't want to speculate but judging by his previous readings of Polish history, we would hazard a guess that the president isn't too familiar with this key event in the 20th century.

As it turns out, Trump's comment on the anniversary of the uprising revolved around the subject that he knows best - himself.

Well, I have a lot of respect for Poland. And, as you know, the people of Poland like me, and I like them. And I’m going to be going to Poland fairly soon.

So, there you go, not only did Trump not say anything about the uprising but he just spoke about himself instead and at this point, we don't know whether to laugh or cry and neither does Twitter.

To make matters worse, George Conway, the husband of Trump's counsellor Kellyanne Conway, pointed out that when the president visited Poland in 2017 he gave a speech in front of a monument for the Warsaw Uprising.
