Angelina Jolie has an inspiring message for young people

Angelina Jolie made her first outing this weekend since revealing that she had recently undergone surgery to remove her ovaries following a cancer scare.

Her daughters, Shiloh, eight, and Zahara, 10, were with her at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards where she won the award for Best Villain for her role as Maleficent.

“When I was a kid I was told – like Maleficent – that I was different. But then I realised something: different is good.

“So maybe you don’t fit in. Be yourself. When someone tells you that you are different just smile and hold your head up, and be proud.”

“And as your villain,” said the actress (who also underwent a double mastectomy two years ago to prevent the onset of breast cancer), “I would say, cause a little trouble. It is good for you!’”
