Ariel Winter has an important message about over-sexualisation in the media after breast reduction surgery

At the age of 17, Modern Family star Ariel Winter has revealed she has had breast-reduction surgery after being bullied online.

"We live in a day and age where everything you do is so ridiculed,” Winter explained. “As women in the industry, we are totally over-sexualised and treated like objects.

"Every article that has to do with me on a red carpet had to do with ‘Ariel Winter’s Crazy Cleavage!’ or ‘Ariel Winter Shows Huge Boobs at an Event!’”

The only cast member she told was Julie Bowen, who plays her on-screen mum. Winter said: “She was really supportive and understanding.”
