Drunk texting or calling is a mortifying feature of many a night out (or in).
But most of us don’t really think about celebrities succumbing to the same moments of weakness after enjoying a glass or five of wine.
Lizzo, however, has admitted to sending her crush, Hollywood heartthrob Chris Evans, a direct Instagram message, warning followers: ““Don’t drink and DM, kids....”
Explaining what happened in a TikTok video, she shared a screenshot of the one-sided exchange which occurred on Saturday.
TheTruth Hurts singer didn’t send him a gushing note, just three emojis (a gust of wind, a sports person and a basketball), suggesting she was shooting her shot – which means to be brave and take a chance.

She then told viewers: “The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not gonna be able to marry him, and honestly, it hurts me to the core.
“Because damn, papa, he’s a rare breed, no comparing,” she added.
Her screengrab at the time showed no response from theCaptain America star, but in a follow-up clip posted early on Monday morning showed he had since been in touch.
“No shame in a drunk DM,” he wrote, followed by a kiss-blowing emoji.
“God knows I’ve done worse on this app.”
Lizzo’s video of Evans’s response racked up more than 5.6 million views in less than 8 hours
Fans were quick to share their envy over the online flirtation.
“She’s living all our dreams,” commented one TikToker.
“If I can’t have him you should,” another conceded.
“NOOOOO LIZZO, get in the back of the line like all of us,” wrote another.
While another added: “LIZZO X CHRIS EVANS CONFIRMED 2021!?!”
It’s not the first time the pair have shared their admiration for one another.
Back in 2019, the Marvel star shared a video of a young girl dancing to Lizzo’s hit Juice: writing, “This kid is cooler than I could ever hope to be.”
The Grammy-winning singer followed up by tweeting back to Evans: “Wow marry me”.
At the MTV Movie Awards later that month, Lizzo joked that she was “going home” after discovering Evans was not attending the ceremony.
Asked if he ever responded to her proposal, she replied: “It’s Chris Evans. He ain’t responding. If he responded, I wouldn’t be here right now. I would be on my honeymoon.”
We’re still holding out hope for you, girl.
