Actress and musician Lindsay Lohan is starring in a new romantic comedy film on Netflix - but everyone’s already making the same joke.
“Lindsay Lohan will star in a new romantic comedy about a newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter after getting total amnesia in a skiing accident,” Netflix tweeted.

But many people responded saying the description was suspiciously similar to the 1987 film Overboard.
Overboard is about Joanna Stayton (Goldie Hawn), a wealthy woman who ridiculous and refused to pay Dean Proffit (Kurt Russell) a carpenter money for work he did on her yacht. After falling off the boar, she gets amnesia. Proffit then decides to bring her into regular life by convincing her that they’re married.
A 2018 adaptation of the film with the same name was also released. It starred Anna Farris and Eugenio Derbez and had a similar plot.
Farris was cleaning carpets on a yacht and convinced Derbez’s character that they’re married after he had amnesia.

Variety reports that Lohan’s film will start production in November, so there’s no official release date.
Amanda Phillips and Eric Jarboe are executive producers for the film.
In 2019, Lohan appeared on CNN’s New Year’s Eve special, announcing that she would be coming back to the United States to grace the big screen again. She also revealed that she’s managing her younger sister Ally’s career.
