Ryan Gosling finally eats his cereal, in tribute to the creator of the meme

Ryan McHenry, the creator of the 'Ryan Gosling won't eat his cereal' meme, has died of bone cancer aged 27.

On Monday night, Gosling tweeted a Vine of him eating cereal in the Scottish filmmaker's honour alongside the message:

My heart goes out to all of Ryan McHenry's family and friends. Feel very lucky to have been a part of his life in some small way.

Vine's official account also paid tribute to Ryan in a message on Twitter, saying: "Your creativity brightened many lives. Thank you. You'll be missed."

Ryan's friends and family have set up a JustGiving page in his memory to raise money for Sarcoma research which you can find here.
