When Madison was told by her school that a special visitor was coming to help with their 9/11 charity project, she instantly began dreaming she was going to be stuffing backpacks with supplies for the homeless with Beyoncé by her side.
Imagine her disappointment when the president and first lady turned up instead.
Madison, who is in the sixth grade (the equivalent of year 7 in the UK), helpfully waited until the TV cameras were rolling at her school in Washington DC before telling Barack Obama this:
"I really wanted it to be Beyoncé," she said.
Obama jumped in to say: "Malia and Sasha would feel the same way."
"But then I realised it was going to be you," Madison continued, before hastily adding "that's even better".
"I appreciate you saying that in front of the press," Obama told her. "I know it’s not really true."
Michelle Obama agreed with the girl's sentiments, saying: "I'd rather see Beyonce."
All in all it's been a pretty disastrous week for Obama and kids.
