Woman sets up a GoFundMe page claiming she spent all her life savings on Powerball lottery tickets

After three winning tickets were drawn from the US' historic $1.6billion Powerball lottery rollover this week, one woman found a unique (but highly unsuccessful) way to make a quick buck/go "viral".

Cinnamon Nicole from Memphis, Tennessee, set up a GoFundMe crowdfunding page claiming she blew all her savings on lottery tickets and needed to be reimbursed.

According to reports, the now deleted page read:

Please help me and my family as we have exausted all of our funds. We spent all of our money on lottery tickets (expecting to win the 1.5 billion) and are now in dire need of cash. With your small donation of at least $1.00, a like and one share...

I’m certain that we will be able to pick ourselves up from the trenches of this lost [sic] and spend another fortune trying to hit it big again! PLEASE, won’t you help a family in need. DONATE NOW.

Cinnamon Nicole apparently raised hundreds of dollars before her page was shut down. GoFundMe have not commented on why they deleted her fundraising page.

Cinnamon Nicole has since claimed she set up the page as a joke, which might be true if her other Facebook posts are anything to go by:
