No matter who you are, Tom Hanks is pretty much impossible to hate and you'd shudder at the thought of letting him down.

Well, we're sorry to say but if you have been wondering around outside and not wearing a mask then you have let the Hollywood legend down.

In an interview with Peopleto promote his new movie Greyhound, Hanks laid out the three things which he believes that all of us should be doing to prevent the spread of coronavirus and if you aren't doing them then Hanks thinks you should hang your head in shame.

The 63-year-old said:

There's really only three things we can do in order to get to tomorrow: wear a mask, social distance, wash our hands.

Those things are so simple, so easy, if anybody cannot find it in themselves to practice those three very basic things – I just think shame on you.

It's very basic. If you're driving a car, you don't go too fast, you use your turn signal and you avoid hitting pedestrians. My Lord, it's common sense.

It's really hard not to disagree with Hanks especially as he knows all too well the dangers of Covid-19.

Back in March, when the pandemic was still in its infancy he and his wife, Rita Wilson became some of the first high individuals to test positive for the disease having contracted it while travelling in Australia and working on separate projects in the country.

After quarantining and making a full recovery they have returned to the United States where they will be donating their blood plasma in the hope that it can be used to create a vaccine.

So, next time you want to go to the shops without a mask, much around on a beach with your mates or not wash your hands just remember it's not only yourself you are letting down but Tom Hanks.
