A video showing what appears to be an Amazon delivery driver stealing a package after taking a picture to confirm it has been successfully delivered has gone viral on TikTok.

In the clip, posted by @talktomeinstead (who also goes by the name of Vitaly), an outdoor home security camera shows an apparent employee walking up to the house, placing the package down to take a picture of it and then walking away with it.

Although it is unclear why this happened, the TikTok user suspected that they were stealing the package…

“Did this lady really just take my new MacBook?” they asked, using the app’s text-to-speech effect.

The video, which has been viewed nearly six million times, can be found here.

The incident has clearly angered some users in the comments, although some questioned the validity of the video and wondered whether we had seen the full story yet…

One user wrote:

“Sometimes it’s not the fact that there [sic] taking it. sometimes they can be returning it because no one answered the door and there isn’t a safe place.”

In response to a request for comment from the viral news website Daily Dot, Amazon said it was looking into the incident and trying to collect more details on where and when it occurred. Amazon also told the Daily Mail that the situation was being investigated and that it is not a common occurrence.
