We've all been there. Phone running on one per cent of battery life, leaving you in desperate need of a power socket.

You frantically search around for what must seem like hours, then you finally find a power source but you are more than aware that it will take at least 20-30 mins to fully restore life to your device.

The thought of giving up the power source might seem unthinkable, but you would hope that any decent person would surrender the spot if another person was in desperate need.

That's what actress and bionics advocate Angel Giuffria would have been hoping when she was in need of a power source to recharge her bionic arm at the SXSW Conference in Austin, Texas.

However, she experienced the exact opposite kind of reaction as no one was willing to give up their place, forcing her to find an outlet at the back of the room.

She documented the moment on Twitter, but admitted that she held no hard feelings towards those that ignored her requests.

Angel, who has starred in Hollywood movies like The Accountant and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, was born without a left hand.

She began using prosthetic arms at the age of six but, after using a bionic hand, she decided that the functionality and the aesthetic suited her best.

Since then, she has decided to take up acting and also work as an activist for bionics. However, despite her arm being an advanced piece of technology, people still confuse it for a fashion statement, as reported by Chron.

But there was an upside to this story, as the tongue-in-cheek nature of her tweet caused her to go viral on Twitter and people were curious to learn more.

Despite the positive feedback, there were still some individuals who felt the need to make a joke, which reminded Angel that there is still a lot of work to be done to raise awareness of amputees and people with prostheses.
