Whenever a general election rolls around you can guarantee that you'll see politicians attempting to do things to try and appear normal.
These things include playing football, eating a bacon sandwich or dancing. This time around Boris Johnson has tried to show everyone that he is just like everyone else by mucking in with the flood clean-up currently underway in the north of England
After declaring that the flooding that areas of northern England are currently experiencing was 'not a national emergency' the prime minister obviously decided it was best to show his face and at least some empathy and thus rocked up in Matlock, Derbyshire.
There he was immediately put to task and began helping mop up water that had flooded the local branch of Specsavers. However, Johnson appeared to struggle a little with the complexities of the mop.
In fact, it could be argued from his technique that this is a man who has never used a mop in his entire life.
Rather than soak up the water with the mop, he literally just pushes it around as he if was using a broom and thus making the situation even worse.
As you can imagine, critics of the prime minister immediately latched onto this bizarre bit of footage and Twitter was soon awash with mockery. Here are some of our favourites.
