A woman who was asked on live TV about a second Brexit referendum has absolutely nailed all the reasons why Brexiteers' are wrong to reject a Final Say.
A Sky News reporter asks:
You want another referendum because you lost. Do you just keep having referendums until you get what you want? What about the people who actually won the original one?
Without missing a beat, the woman responds:
Should we never have another general election? ... Do we never play another World Cup? ... Democracy is an ongoing process, it's not a one-off event. It happens and it continues to happen. And when we know more we should be asked again.
She doesn't stop there either. The woman continues:
You cannot have a vote or a referendum based on lies, binding in the way that this one is supposedly being viewed as. We have to go back to people. We know more now.
And for anyone still unconvinced by her point, you can't really argue with this:
People should want to vote when they know the issues. They should not want to vote when they have been lied to, and they should not want that vote respected. It doesn't deserve respect.
