Ultimate Fighting Championship star Conor McGregor has said that Trump is “quite possibly” the greatest president of all time.
Wishing Trump a happy Martin Luther King Day, he wrote:
Phenomenal President.
He also included an emoji of a goat, which in sports circles means "greatest of all time."
Trump had tweeted to mark his first three years in office while recognising the special day.
But in 2015, UFC's most controversial fighter McGregor had a very different take on America's most controversial politician, saying he should “shut his big, fat mouth.”
After Trump commented on one of his losses, he said:
I don’t give a f--- about Donald Trump.
In 2017, after Trump was elected, he wasn’t too enthusiastic about him either.
I just could not give a bollocks, with all due respect, the whole thing is weird to me.
The public are just brainwashed into thinking something is going to happen with this one.
I don’t think either of those two contenders, or whatever they are, have power in anything, anyway.
McGregor defeated Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone in a UFC 246 welterweight mixed martial arts bout on Saturday in just 40 seconds. It was McGregor's first win in the UFC in more than 3 years.
Trump eventually responded, congratulating him on the win.
