The WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has opened a takeaway restaurant in Batley, Yorkshire.

Months after welcoming Tyson Fury to his Bradford restaurant, the owner of Mr T’s restaurant had another boxing superstar in attendance for the grand opening. No word as of yet on what the American Olympian made of the mean streets of Yorkshire.

Hundreds of members of the public welcomed Wilder by chanting in the street after the boxer had tucked into a burger and pizza at the establishment. He was good enough to comment on upcoming bouts with Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury.

Ortiz is definitely happening. I am looking forward to fighting him. After I knock him out I will go to Fury, knock him out and then we will go for a unification.
