In 2011, during President Barack Obama's least popular time in office, Donald Trump fired off an opportunistic tweet.

Simpler times.

How the tables have turned.

Donald Trump is now the President of the United States.

He's also the one languishing in the polls, having clocked his worst ever daily approval rating in the latest Gallup poll.

He's a full 25 points behind Barack Obama's equivalent point in his first term.

If you compare their net approval ratings ('approve, subtracting 'disapprove'), the picture gets even worse.

Trump is in the negative already, while Obama was enjoying a healthy +32 net approval rating.

In addition, Barack Obama's worst ever disapproval rating was 43 per cent, according to Gallup weekly averages.

Donald Trump has averaged 52.36 per cent disapproval for his time in office, and stands at 57 currently.

His approval rating is also currently lower than Barack Obama's lowest ever in office, of 38.

We have one question.

Why so high?
