On Wednesday, the US Senate will hold confirmation hearings for six of president-elect Donald Trump's cabinet nominees.
The hearings concern:
- Mike Pompeo for CIA director
- Betsy DeVos for secretary of education
- Rex Tillerson for secretary of state
- Jeff Sessions for attorney general
- John Kelly for secretary of homeland security
- Elaine Chao for secretary of transportation
That's a rather large amount.
Trump will also hold a press conference, his first since the campaign.
There's a lot that has not been discussed since he shut out the press on the campaign trail, including the fact US domestic intelligence agencies believes Russia influenced the election in his favour.
On Wednesday, the Senate also plans to start dismantling the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as the legislation that introduced Obamacare.
That is a lot of political news for one day. Prepare for a ram-packed Wednesday.
It's almost like Senate Republicans are trying to flood the newswires to get it all over with in one day.
Wednesday's going to be a fun one!
