Elon Musk casually announced that Grimes had their baby while chatting about Tesla

Elon Musk and Grimes welcomed their first baby together but in true form, it wasn’t the most traditional revelation.

The 48-year-old Tesla CEO responded to a tweet from @cleantechnia about the EPA denying the claim that the testing for the Tesla Model S was faulty.

Musk responded:

Then Twitter user @Gaelic_Neilson took the opportunity to ask the multibillionaire if there was any news on his baby.

Musk responded that the baby was “a few hours away” and then sure enough, about four hours later, he tweeted:

In follow-up tweets, Musk then posted some photos of his baby boy:

And then this one of the baby with a filter over his face of some pretend tattoos and a follow-up tweet stating “Never too young for some ink haha”:

Oh, and a name?

Musk revealed (and we’re not actually sure if it’s a joke or not – because hey, it is Elon Musk and Grimes after all) that their new baby would be called “X Æ A-12 Musk”.

It appears to be a reference to Grimes’ song "4ÆM" from her fifth studio album, Miss Anthropocene.

The new little bundle of joy is Musk’s sixth son but Grimes’ first.
