Who would have thought it? In 2018, there's a fashion trend sweeping the nation. No, it's not Yeezy's latest line, nor a hot pair of trainers. It is, in fact, the waistcoat.

This sartorial revolution is all thanks to the ever crisply dressed England manager, Gareth Southgate. The 47-year-old has guided the England team to its first World Cup semi-final since 1990, and he's donned a smart form fitting waistcoat for every game played so far.

It's no surprise, then, that people are paying tribute to the England manager with 'waistcoat Wednesday', meaning they're arriving at work today wearing a waistcoat ahead of the England-Croatia game this evening.

Marks and Spencer say they have sold out of waistcoats ahead of the game, and blood cancer charity Bloodwise has been encouraging people to raise money for the charity by posting pictures of themselves in their outfits, accompanied by the hashtag #WaistcoatWednesdays.
