Ivanka Trump is praising her father's dedication to 'religious freedom' and people are pointing out a problem

Ivanka Trump praised her father, the US president for being the first president to “host a meeting at the United Nations on religious freedom."

Taking to Twitter, she praised Donald Trump for the following:

Today @POTUS became the 1st President of the United States to host a meeting at the United Nations on religious freedom.

Ivanka followed up the tweet:

80% of the worlds population live in countries where religious liberty is threatened, restricted, or even banned.

While religious freedom is protected in the United States, sadly it is rare and under attack in many areas of the world.

Trump gave a speech to world leaders at the United Nations about why they should do more to protect people targeted for their religious beliefs.

He defended his controversial “Muslim ban,” which attempted to bar citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US, saying “tens of thousands of people” were entering with “cell phones with Isis flags on them…I don’t think so.”

Actress Mia Farrow was one of the first people to point out the obvious

And others quickly followed suit, and brought attention to the irony of Ivanka praising her father for his dedication to "religious freedom" given his past attempts to ban Muslims from the US...

Others said Donald Trump was not the main event at the UN anyway...it was 16-year-old Greta Thunberg

The young activist delivered a scathing takedown of world leaders and their inaction around climate change.
