Louise Mensch tried to smear Jeremy Corbyn supporters on Twitter and scored an own-goal instead

Ah, Louise Mensch. Where would British politics be without you?

On Friday night the author and one-time Conservative MP tried to prove people supporting Jeremy Corbyn's bid for Labour leader are anti-Semitic by tweeting a picture of a search bar on Twitter, into which she had typed the handle for Labour leadership candidate Liz Kendall.

Referring to the search options that popped up, she wrote: "Twitter’s autocomplete on Liz Kendall MP. This is the sewer that is Jeremy Corbyn’s support.”

However, what Mensch was referring to wasn't autofill suggested searches, but rather, a record of her own previous searches.
